Champion Embryo Transfer Service is an embryo transfer and recipient mare focused equine reproduction facility, which was started with the goal of combining high success rates with exceptional customer service. Founded on the belief of charging for success instead of anticipation, we do not bill our ET Pregnancy Fee & Recipient Mare Lease until we see a viable pregnancy with a heartbeat at 45 days of pregnancy. We also stand behind every embryo transfer pregnancy with our Live Foal Guarantee Discount.

Champion Embryo Transfer Service was founded in 2012 as Champion Equine, LLLP. In preparation for the 2018 breeding season, James A. Synowsky, DVM took sole ownership and used the opportunity to transition to Champion Embryo Transfer Service, focusing on what we do best – managing recips for embryo transfer. With one of the largest recip herds in the southwest, we are able to accommodate embryos from mares and disciplines of all sizes, while still providing each client the courtesy and customer service they deserve.

We look forward to doing business with you and helping you achieve your breeding goals!

James A. Synowsky, DVM – Owner/Veterinarian

Dr. James Synowsky was born and raised in Fort Worth, Texas, spending much of his free time at his family’s ranch hunting, fishing, baling hay, and working cattle. Those early experiences helped shape his strong work ethic and lifelong connection to rural life and animal care. Dr. Synowsky earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine with honors from St. George’s University after spending his clinical year at Oklahoma State University. After completing a year internship at Royal Vista Southwest, he was invited to stay on as an associate veterinarian and continued there until he decided it was time to move back to Texas and founded Champion Equine, LLLP in 2011. Dr. Synowsky chose to focus exclusively on the recipient mare side of embryo transfer and in 2017 transitioned the business to Champion Embryo Transfer Service. He is a member of the American Association of Equine Practitioners, American Veterinary Medical Association, Texas Veterinary Medical Association, and International Society for Equine Reproduction. Beyond veterinary medicine, Dr. Synowsky is deeply committed to his community and the people who call it home. In 2017, he was elected the first mayor of Dennis, Texas, where he lives with his wife.

Dr. Layfield moved to Weatherford, TX in 2016 to pursue his interest in embryo transfer. He joined the team at Champion Embryo Transfer Service in 2019. Dr. Layfield is a member of the American Association of Equine Practitioners, Texas Equine Veterinary Association, American Veterinary Medical Association, and the American Quarter Horse Association. After practicing veterinary medicine in Fort Worth and Pampa, TX, Dr. Reynolds returned to Dennis, TX as an associate veterinarian at Champion Embryo Transfer Service. His special interests are equine dentistry and reproduction, which allows him to manage the recip herd’s routine dental and preventative care when he isn’t palpating mares during the breeding season. Dr. Reynolds spends his free time with his expecting wife (due March 2023), 2 year old daughter and their small herd of brood mares.

Jacob Middleton – Facilities Manager

Jacob Middleton was born and raised in a small farm town in the Central Valley of California. He’s been involved with horses most of his life; riding, team roping, and eventually training cutting horses. This prompted his move from California to Brock in 2007 where he had the opportunity to work for some of the great trainers. Focusing on spending more time with his family, he changed paths and managed a cattle ranch for 4 years; raising pairs, running yearlings on wheat, and training horses. He then moved into the alfalfa cube business for five years prior to joining the team at Champion Embryo Transfer Service. His goal at CETS is to make everyone’s day better!
